Cheesebrough Wood Rakes & Wooden Flagsticks
Custom design & fabrication The crew around Cheesebrough has always said that if you drop off a tree in the mill yard we can make anything you want out of it in three months. Surprisingly, a tree is often what is required for much custom woodworking, as the standardized lumber sizes available in the marketplace often do not fit the need. The three months is also a good rule of thumb for something unique. Custom work requires time for design, artwork, and prototyping. Then material sourcing and curing, as well as special tooling and finishes. All in all, we do not do custom work fast. And, if you catch us during a busy time, it is not even that fast. We can, however, make about anything you would want. Our area of the country has long been known as a center for high quality craftsmanship. Custom work always requires a partnership to be successful. On our part, we design and build to meet the environmental conditions of the property they will serve. Your part will be to keep a close eye on the products, providing a maintenance program that protects them in that environment.
A Totem shaped flag stick can be carved with the history of your area, club, or an individual. Below are some American Indian theme markers. At right a miniature outhouse.
Unique accessories for your grounds The picture at right shows a custom flagstick and marker. The brass has been oxidized to give the appearance of age. The markers are 2" x 18” without the spike, and have solid brass caps and base connectors. The sticks are the typical 5’ length used in Europe since golf began. The flags are simple swatches of cloth used in the early days of the game.

Probably not an item you would use on a golf course, but our line of clothes rods might come in handy somewhere. We have made these sturdy rods since the beginning. Domestic hardwood 5/8" dowels and 1" legs make them the most durable set of rods available. We are in the process of finishing the website so you can see the complete line.
