Rod Frame Rake

The Rod Frame is a 21st century version of the Wire Frame we have made since the 1880's. It has a very durable, trussed head to handle connection. The Rod Frame is available in our standard rake sizes. It can be used for bunker care or general maintenance.

Round tooth rakes were specified for grass care in earlier days, as round teeth gently comb, minimizing grass blade tear. The sharper edges on square tooth rakes tear grass. The resulting torn tips decay, dulling the presentation of your grounds.

Cheesebrough™ Maintenance Crew Rakes

Low Maintenance Bunker Rakes

Low Maintenance rakes are made with exotic hardwoods that have natural resistance to decay and UV degradation. Left natural, the wood will turn gray over time, but stays quite smooth. The new look can be retained with sealer. Exotic hardwood serves well in any climate, and is essential in Tropical and Dry climate zones.

At right are two new rakes.  One natural, and under it one with sealer.   The two rakes below spent one year on our rusty metal roof.  The top photo shows how the natural wood turns gray and under it a rake that was sealed. (The left side has been re-sealed, and looks very fresh.)

Basic maintenance for exotic hardwood products:

Without maintenance, exotic wood will turn gray over time, but stays quite smooth. It can be kept looking new with periodic applications of sealer.

Basic maintenance for domestic hardwood products:

Before assembly, the individual components of our domestic hardwood rakes are dipped in a wood sealer for a strong foundation of protection. Regular maintenance is important, and we will assist you in developing a program that will get the most years from your Cheesebrough products. Without protection, Ultra Violet damage from the sun, and decay from moisture penetration can weaken the wood, reducing its years of functional life. Wooden rake components are repairable or replaceable.
